Esperanza received her medical degree in anesthesiology from Javeriana Pontificia University in Bogota, Colombia and completed a fellowship in neuroanesthesiology at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1988. Esperanza became interested in pelvic floor dysfunction and biofeedback during her tenure at Baylor University in Houston. She received formal training at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas followed by certification under supervision of Howard Glazer, PHD–an internationally renowned innovator in pelvic floor dysfunction.  
Esperanza is but a handful or certified biofeedback and pelvic muscle rehabilitation specialists in the United States. Her areas of expertise include the evaluation and management of pelvic vaginal pain disorders as well as urinary, bladder and bowl dysfunctions. She is also a medical advisory board member of P.U.R.E. H.O.P.E.  Esperanza’s passion for her work is shared with her patients through her supportive encouragements and her constant desire in providing the highest quality care.
